ⓞ 시작하기 전에...
 이 글과 거의 같은 내용의 글이지만 Feisty에서 약간 달라진 점을 적을 예정이다. 많은 부분이 겹치게 될 것 같다. 그래서 되도록이면 새로운 내용 위주로 작성하려고 한다. 지난 주말, 페이스티 출시 불과 한달만에 두번이나 설치하게 되는 일이 생겨서 조금은 문서로 남겨둘 필요성을 느끼게 되었다. 본 포스팅은 지극히 개인적인 환경, TG 삼보의 노트북 Averatec(에버라텍) 4200에 맞춰진 설정이다. 그리고 Edgy 설정 포스팅과 겹치는 내용들은 굳이 자세하게 적지 않는다.

① 소스 리스트 편집(/etc/apt/sources.list) 및 업데이트
 이전 포스팅과 마찬가지로 개인적으로 좋아하는 패키지들을 사용 하기 위한 서드 파티 저장소를 다수 포함하고 있기 때문에, 이 소스 리스트의 사용은 다음 버전인 7.10 Gusty Gibbon으로의 업그레이드에 문제가 될 수도 있다. (소스리스트 버전은 2007/7/20 버전)

② 또 다른 한영키 설정 방법
 이전에는 .Xmodmap을 만드는 방법을 소개 했지만 이번에는 다른 방법을 소개한다. 아! 물론 .Xmodmap을 만드는 방법은 언제나 유효한 방법이다. '시스템 - 기본설정 - 키보드'를 실행해서 '키배치'에 들어간 뒤 'Korea, Republic of 101/104 key Compatible'을 선택하면 xmodmap의 설정 없이 한영키의 키값이 제대로 인식된다. 나는 이 방법이 아닌 설치시에 키보드 타입을 골랐기에 차후에 수정으로 적용이 제대로 되는지는 테스트 해보지 않았다.

③ 1280x800 해상도 설정은 이전과 동일.
 이 글을 참고하면 된다. Feisty에는 이 방법 이외에도 xserver-xorg-video-intel 패키지를 설치함으로써 xorg.conf 의 수정만으로 1280x800 해상도 적용이 가능하지만 이 경우 베릴(beryl) 및 컴피즈(compiz)가 정상동작하지 않음을 확인하였다. 때문에 번거로워도 이전의 방법을 쓴다.

④ 부팅시 FAT 영역을 체크하지 않는 설정
 이 설정도 이전과 동일하다.

⑤ 무선랜 설정
 Feisty의 경우, Network-manager가 기본 무선랜 설정 툴이므로 Edgy와 같은 작업은 필요없다. AP와의 통신에서 WEP 암호화를 사용할 경우, 매번 물어보는 키링 암호가 귀찮을 경우 이 방법을 쓰면 된다.

⑥ Beryl-svn(git) 설치
 Beryl의 설치의 경우 위의 소스 리스트를 쓴다면 큰 문제 없이 설치 될 것이다. Feisty의 경우, Compiz은 기본적으로 설치되어 있으므로 Beryl을 쓰지 않을 유저는 굳이 Beryl 설치 없이도 3D 데스크탑 효과를 쓸 수 있다.

xorg.conf의 설정의 경우 이전 포스팅을 참고하면 된다.

⑦ 추가적으로 필요에 의해 설치해 준 패키지
 ※ 필요하다고 생각하면 계속 추가하겠다.(2007/05/22 버전)
apt-get이나 시냅틱 패키지 관리자로 설치할 수 있는 패키지들

vim - 기본적으로 vim-tiny가 설치되기 때문에 syntax highlight와 같은 기능을 위해서라도 vim 을 설치한다.
build-essential - 기본적으로 컴파일을 위한 패키지들을 설치한다.(gcc 및 관련 라이브러리)
xchat - IRC 채팅을 위해서 이용한다. 랜덤여신님의 xchat 스크립트(시스템 정보 출력, 현재 듣는곡 출력등의 기능)
amule - 필요한 자료를 받기 위해 설치한다.(P2P 파일 공유, 당나귀류(?))
filezilla - GUI FTP 클라이언트로 사용한다.
msttcorefonts - MS에서 제공하는 영문 폰트를 설치한다. 웹서핑시 꼭 필요하다.
audacious - XMMS, BMP 뒤를 잇는 winamp와 비슷한 음악 재생기이다. Amarok과 함께 가장 선호하는 재생기이다.
mail-notification-evolution - Evolution과 연동되는 메일 알림이로 사용한다.
sun-java5-jdk - kfmes님께서 만드신 JaTeOn 이용등을 위해 설치한다.
avant-window-navigator - Beryl과 연동(?)되는 Icon Dock. 이 글을 참고.
mplayer - 가장 좋아하는 동영상 재생기
nautilus-open-terminal - 어디서나 터미널을 열 수 있게 해준다.
scim-qtimm - Amarok과 같은 KDE 프로그램에서 한글을 입력 할 수 있게 해준다.
smbfs - 윈도우즈의 공유된 파일에 접근하기 위해서...

JaTeOn - Java로 만들어진 네이트온 클론이다. 여기를 참고.
NateOn protocol plugin for pidgin - GAIM이 PIDGIN으로 이름이 바뀌었다. pidgin에서 네이트온 대화가 가능한 버전이다.
한글 2005 평가판 - 과제등을 위해 이용한다. 헤즈(haze)님이 패키징 하셨고, 자료가 있는 서버 역시 헤즈님의 서버이다.
computertemp - CPU온도를 보여주는 그놈 애플릿이다. 이 글을 참고.
screenlets - 이 파일의 압축을 풀면 패키지가 나온다. 한국에서는 screenlets 관련 패키지 저장소로 접근이 안된다.(shiva님께서 제공하신 정보). 이 글을 참고. 본문에 한국에서 접근 가능한 패키지 저장소를 추가하였다.(2007/7/20 수정)
totem(Gstreamer) 관련 패키지 - 관련 정보는 여기를 참고.
unzip - 소스 리스트에 있는 alee님 저장소에 있는 패키지이지만 이 쪽이 버전이 낮아서 설치후 패키지를 hold 시켜줘야 한다. 이 글을 참고

그 외에 Usplash, Grub splash 변경등은 이미 포스팅한 적이 있다.

 이전 포스팅과 유사한 내용이므로 최대한 간략하게 썼다. 나머지는 그동안의 포스팅을 참고해도 충분할 것 같다.
